This one was based off of Hebrews 12:1-3 so I’ve included the text at the end.

Take Heart, Traveler
Away, away! His companions shrinking
Horizons empty stretch afar.
Dim glows the failing light, away, away.
Under weight unseen he’s ever sinking .
Knees slumping, shaking, trembles,
At that endless, lonesome sky.
Just one step, his mind urges,
No power of heart compels.
.
Distant now stands the aim,
Lower now sinks this valley, away, away.
Empty gusts ring chill and hollow
Away, away! This crumpled solitary frame
Bent in isolation, dark.
Would he look to that gloom-swathed garden!
On the ground his Maker lies.
Companions they’ve gone away, away.
.
Did he waver in that deserted site?
His fellows–faded lumps–they slumber.
Sank his heart within him
When shadows gathered the thickening night?
Might it have ended there, poor sinner?
Hope cowed and promise betrayed,
Where fiendish victors dared dream?
Away, away! Foul haunts of the night.
.
His eye is not upon the shaded dark,
Nor his ear comprehending defiled whispers.
Away, away! He commands them fly.
All around the night’s bidden depart.
The spoils of his triumph shimmer into view
That throng of beloved gathered
Their champion to behold.
A glimpse of saints, a great cloud above.
.
And joy pierces shadowed themes.
No shame too great, no pain too vast
Can keep him from the cross.
While evil lurks and plots, and schemes,
While darkness presses the advantage,
The Almighty is not idle.
His victory is wrought in scar and thorn and blood.
.
Oh weary traveler with stooping shoulder,
Look again. Oh look again!
Lift your eyes, shake loose the tangles.
Though liars urge you rest, grow older,
Do you hear that cloud bear witness?
All around, they proclaim you victor.
Heed not the lies that breathe loneliness,
Trust not the looming dark.
.
Behold your perfector, your author
Hanging slumped against the ominous sky
Or lying still in ancient tomb
Death, our captain did not abhor.
But do not look away, away.
Lo his breast it fills with air.
He is there no more!
Strengthen your drooping knees,
Oh traveler, and tread another step.
Hebrews 12: 1 Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
